I'm always amused how authors create ways to backtrack "confessions" to extend the "will they, won't they" status quo.

This seemed pretty much the norm for romcoms but it just kills any hype that I had with the last few chapters and now I know nothing will happen in the next 10-15, so any excitement for the story just went down the drain.

Having something start out of a misunderstood confession seems like a lazy cop out, it already fulfilled it's purpose by making her conscious of him, before this happened she was an enigma.

I wish that people would stop confusing "introvert" with "asocial" as they have very different meanings. Introverts just means that you feel refreshed when being alone some times. It doesn't mean you lack the capacity to be social. That would be asocial. Thanks for the chapter!!!

I would say readers don't care about realism per se. It's about plausability, things can be as out there as possible as long as the events feel plausible according to the created worlds rules.

My brother in christ, We're only on chapter 18. By every other Romcom metrics we are making insanely good time. Even if you're right and it takes another 10 chapters that puts us at chapter 28. Any huge relationship affirmation or progress before or during chapter 30 is insanely fast by romcom standards.

Most porn is just a one-shot format. Made to just paint the context to spice the jerk-off. When the porn is serialized, then just having sex scenes is not enough, otherwise the customers will just consume other one-shots.

A good story can make a sex scene more engaging and spicier.

I get that porn can have engaging stories but I'm also not a fan of looking for water in a desert. The editor's line "I guess what's realistic isn't what happens in reality" is really good, but they still goes after the idea than telling Hayama she might have writing problem which is my main point.
