Yeah this doesn't really work for me. Way too focused on the replica gimmick, without enough character development for the journey to feel substantial. At the end of the day, the two of them dating isn't enough by itself to make the ending enjoyable.

They never merge. Anime-only viewers assume they merged because they lack context. And Sunao never dated Shuya.

I... that sure was an ending. It's probably because it skipped so much of ln 4 that it completely changed the emotional tone. Just couldn't stick the landing in my opinion. I know what they were aiming for, but it didn't come across. Oh well, it's nice that the ln exists, where I bet the story gets a proper wrap up emotionally. And I'm at least happy I got to read it all the way through.
