Yep. And i have a hunch whatever Sanada was involved with is connected with why she turned out like this.

The magical realism here makes it difficult to truly get what's goin' on, but it's exactly the payoff I expected. This was the danger.

Now, what this IS and what it MEANS are still very much up in the air. Taken literally it's horrifying, the girl created a being that was just as much a human as she was, never let it live, and killed it. But I don't think that's what's going on, this is a representation of something.
