I was confused how MC apparently has so much money, but this chapter sates she got some big payout from the divorce. That still seems odd though, just how much did she get, that she was able to get this full plastic surgery with no one to help her recover (without paying for their service), worked in a flower shop for a while and has now quit, etc, I would think she'd have like nothing. If it was continued payments, then how would her ex not know when the name changed, etc

She does seem like someone that'd also be frugal so "settlement" aside I can imagine her still having savings thru out the year even if she possibly had to spend the occasional amount for the astronomy club if she had her own telescope and all (might also be a one time payment versus monthly since not like it's child support)

Altho other than staying somewhere for recovery, unless she needed help cooking/cleaning post surgery I imagine she's used to keeping to herself, or the surgeons were good enough to where she didn't need to worry about resting
