Eh, between the san check vs the chaos abyssal and the life of constantly being a demonized demon, can't say it's really surprising this is going on. It is a gear change though if this keeps up, but one chapter does not a pace change make. Heart to heart family bonding should smooth things over, but things going that smoothly in manga/manhua? Characters communicating their worries and hearts to keep those closest in the know to help out and clear misunderstanding? lol fat chance.

How about over Saliy's entire life? the fact that we are seeing this now is just the author finally showing it actually look over all the prior chapters and they hint at this shallowly and rather lightly also I am pretty sure they pointed out her biggest trauma a couple of times already the fact that her Mother(adopted) died because of her this chapter is just putting it more open and in the front but Saliy probably deals with all that every day that is everything you pointed out it's just we didn't see and it was put in the manga

You mean like, having people constantly not want to go to the house because she is there, like Tifa's friends express in the 3rd chapter; etching magic to a paranoid degree into every article of your family's clothing because she worries a lot, having everyone in town constantly talk behind your back, as we are shown she can easily hear in this chapter, having people constantly stare at you in either outright disgust or complete fear, which if they do to Tifa they have to be doing to Saliy, and having a an actual event you can link yourself with being at fault for, the people killed in the mountains.
Not to mention all the shit we get a glimpse of her going through in the Love story thing from her past when she first met Chris.
This manga has shown continually what Saliy has to go through by showing us a bit of it with what Tifa has to go through, and things she and the mayor's daughter have overheard. These things she's seeing aren't sudden, they're just here normal doubts and insecurities taken up to a new degree.
Being stoic, calm, and collective doesn't make you immune to doubt and insecurities; it doesn't even mean they affect you less than a more emotional person. If anything they might be worse because others have a harder time noticing what you are going through.

She's probably always had these second thoughts or internal doubts. She just always ignored them or carried on anyways one way or another. Almost everyone has some sort of doubts in themselves and given her situation and who she is it would make sense that she would be internally thinking these things but keeping them locked away.
After the abyssal spell, it's just the element of chaos dragging all of this out of her and forcing her to deal with it all at once. Since it's likely an aspect of herself already, it already knows where it hits worst, so it's essentially the same as dragging out all your worst fears, worries, insecurities, doubts, and all those other fun things and shoving them into your face in just the exact way to break you down because only you know what hits you worst.

@vigo_to_vigo amen you point it perfectly people looks at the present chapter but forgets all the past chapters also the chaos magic accelerated the sanity check for her.
also if chis let her alone is because he things is maybe best but also chaos magic effects are unknown to him but you guys will see it won't end bad

It wasn't just the Abyss pushing for insanity, resisting it left her mentally exhausted, so all her regular worries are hitting her harder than normal.

Thanks for the 3 chapters Nekyou.
Since she used Abyss magic in the past, it's chipping away her sanity bit by bit until she doesn't have the mental strength to resist it as we can see in this chapter she's starting to lose it.

Idk why people don’t like this I mean this is pretty similar to depression their are cases where you don’t know that your happy friend was actually holding something heavy for a very long time.
In her case she was still able to hold off her emotions till of course the magic she use trigger her bottled up emotions to get released.

It seems like you don't understand how depression works. The idea that someone should "know better" or that progression "should have taken longer" are bad misconceptions. If anything, "calm and collected" people are the type to be hit hardest by stuff like this, as they can understand intellectually that their fears/doubts are unfounded, yet emotionally they can't escape them.

It seems like you're not getting what I was saying. She's used this magic before. She's felt its side effects previously.
Sure, this time the magic was stronger, as she has no idea what sky vagina was, and has put more of a mental strain on her because of that.
What I'm saying is that, someone who's had experience with after effects knows what to expect. Even if this was all a mental fabrication, having you stand in front of yourself sends flags.
There was her attacking her brother, and the- we'll call it darkness- telling her she attacked him out of jealousy for having a more stable childhood. Something she probably wouldn't have known at the time. Pretty big flag.
There's a joke, known as "How do you know about the parts you weren't there for?". She sees Chris talking with whatever the mage guy's name was about her being used as a tool and what have you. Again, pretty big flag.
I think everyone knows and understands depression now-a-days. You have to be pretty dimwitted to not. Depression is a sadness. A deep dark sadness. One that inhibits your ability to even get up in the morning sometimes. You lose interest in things you even enjoy- hell, you lose interest even in living. But what she has isn't depression. This is a fear, a psychosis. It doesn't change much, but I thought you should know.
So, digressing and summarizing, she used abyss magic, summoned a eyeball monster mash, and nearly went insane. Is now exhausted and seeing herself and fears from her past. She just even woke up from a nightmare. Now- considering how much of a badass bitch she's been, you've think she'd realize, "oh, still dealing with this." and think logically as flashbacks have shown.
What I'm saying, is this isn't new territory for her and she should have been ready for it. I think this does a disservice to her character. They should have at least done it better, if you wanted to stay the course.
I mean, as it stands (before the next chapter is out) this is a one off and the little mayor girl is going to make everything better in her own tsundere way. And again, I think that does a disservice to Saliy's character.

Except people are not cold machines of logic and rational that can look past their mental breakdown in progress and press a pause button to step back and analyze things before coming to the conclusion that stopping this little blame spiral is what they should do. It doesn't matter how physically strong or magically capable she is.
It's clear as day that while she's not bad around her husband and daughter, that she still has her own issues and what not to deal with. We don't ever know if she really got over her feelings as a child or if her love for Chris and other things just buried it deeper. And judging from what we see here, it seems like the issues were never really fixed as much as they were patched over with stronger bonds and what not.
