To be fair, tarantulas apparently really do taste similar to crab. However, the proper method of cooking is to burn off the hair, then cook the spider. It even comes with free toothpicks when you're done pulling the meat out and eating it!
I don't mind eating most things if they're tasty, I think.
My line is mainly how much like a living thing they still look like. Unlike most livestock meat, insects can't be cut up, so I'd have trouble with those.
In general I support the idea of eating something if it's tasty even if it's unconventional... but I gotta say over 20 years of food eating has ingrained "not wanting to eat spiders" firmly.
Oookaaayyyy.... The Frick cooks a spider and says it similar to crab flavor.
In real life you might need a frick lot of spiders to equal just one crab. Though I will admit that I'd watch this cooking video if it were on youtube
