@hyun50 : considering that this is a prequel series...

@kaminomikan : A word in the title does not mean it is present in the story, especially in spin offs that copy over the main stories name to help fans recognize it. This is a prequel spin off of a reincarnation story, from the description it looks to be the MC's first life.

@ultraleaf : it is not like sword wielding bishounens were not a thing for more then a decade before SAO was a thing...

@deathmailrock : Not every fantasy series that comes out of Japan is a RPG based series.

For those who haven't figured it out yet, this is the prequel to "the reincarnation magician of inferior eyes" manga, basically being the MC of that's origin story.

@jokerxhisoka true... but... that ain't much... though the fact that people of another world find Japanese food delicious is kinda weird... I mean, some things, maybe... but too many Japanese foods are often things you need to get used to. No way in hell people would love sushi or sashimi or natto that easily.. in fact, for the reincarnation novels, even the MC should find it bad at first since their taste buds shouldn't have acclimated to the style.

It also works in reverse; people who haven't eaten Western Foods often won't like them as much (though, in our modern world, this is much less of an issue).

@sjmcc13 Actually, they sorta are...they are Western worlds from RPGs... sure, they might not all have RPG mechanics, and some of them probably are getting the idea more from other Isekai than the RPGs directly... but they are all pretty much at it's core, fantasy stories based on RPGs... the authors might not know it though since they probably got the idea from another Isekai or RPG fantasy.

@deathmailrock : No they are not, you are just suffering from a EXTREMELY bad case of confirmation bias.

You are literally saying that no one can make a fantasy series that is not based on an RPG, since that argument applies to everyone. Except that the relationship is the other way around Fantasy RPGs rely on fantasy settings, not fantasy setting relying on RPGs. There are series that are based on RPG like Goblin Slayer (which is 2 gods playing a D&D like Table Top RPG and GS being one of the characters they care about since he plans out so much that they do not get to roll the dice anywhere near the amount they do for the rest) but there are plenty that are not based on them.

There are common tropes to Japanese fantasy, but those are from RPG, some are but not everything, but really there fantasy settings are more based on their Manga and traditional story elements, which the RPGs also use as inspiration.

@sjmcc13 The fact is, many of the early Isekai model stories we see today and SAO (which had a huge influence on this group of stories) takes elements from RPGs.

And these Isekai stories are often taking elements from other Isekai stories. The Demon King, Hero, levels, etc. are being taken more from the influence of Dragon Quest (which is pretty much the biggest thing is Japan; so big, they had to make the games have a special release date just so that people won't skip their work or school to get the games).

It's like how, if you use Naruto as a reference for your series, you are indirectly taking reference from Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakusho...

Dragon Quest is pretty much the largest thing in Japan and these Isekai stories, directly or indirectly take elements from it. As such, they are RPG fantasies.

People throw the isekai term around, but this isn't something where the MC came from earth. There is no connection to Earth So the comments are very much off base.
Though some have noticed this is a prequel for - https://www.mangadex.org/title/36284/the-reincarnation-magician-of-the-inferior-eyes

This prequel has a better art so far than the sequel. And it's kinda... Sad knowing that, almost all of the characters of this story (friends, harem members, etc.) are already dead, just for the demon girl.

All dem fantasy synopsis tho.
> Is too strong = parents scared, gets kicked out
> Has no magic = parents disappointed, gets kicked out
> Is "normal" = parents putting all their faith in your younger/older sibling, gets cast out

Is there a fantasy manga background option that doesn't end in being cast out?
