A fairly likely scenario more than just something to imagine. Five years is probably too much time for Abel to break in this new body enough to tap some of his original power. Ted will grow quite a lot training in uphill battle type deals against that in those five years.

Anyone know what happened to Bass' hair? Manga doesn't say anything but does the LN mention it as punishment or something? It went from a few inches long to a severe crew cut. In any case he's relying too much on his position and arrogance as a noble to try to get his way rather than consider why he was outmatched by someone he considers inferior much less the meaning behind his father saying Lilith is employing them rather than them employing her. Guess between losing to Abel, her rejection, and restrained killing intent has finally cured him of his one sided crush but unfortunately turned it into emotional rage and desire for revenge without reflection or thought. Good that Ted is more open minded and mature, although he's way OP in his ability to shrug off matters and not notice important details. Like the fact that Lilith, who looks like she's in her early twenties, had saved and guided his father who was young enough to go hunting on his own without an escort or too busy to go from all the paperwork yet looks at least middle aged now.
Btw, as this is a manga intended for children the scenes of Ted spectacularly jumping off the roof, bouncing off a tree and landing at a bad angle on the stone resulting in blood erupting all over his body, multiple contusions, horrendous screams, etc. resulting in a full body cast for a month, even with Abel's healing techniques, and a liquid diet were left out as too horrific for young minds, and several mature ones. Especially the scene where Lilith, irritated at all the trouble Ted has been causing Abel, along with decreasing the amount of her alone time with Abel, picked him up and threw him a great distance into the trash heap before cleaning up all the blood and other substances from the stone. As a result Ted is now addicted to pain killers, uppers, and various other drugs. However, for some reason the usual side effects aren't showing and his stoned personality under the various drugs is indistinguishable from his usual personality.

@Mathiason This is a Seinen, not a Shounen, though. It's published in a Seinen magazine. As for Bass' shaved head...I have a feeling he either did it himself(for the "shame" of losing to the MC) or his father did it because of how he troubled Lilith. Seems inline with why people shave their heads in Japan.

Not familiar with cultural reference and meaning of cutting hair in Japan. In an anime ninja movie I remember a female poison tester cutting her hair because wanted to go on a mission but her boss was reluctant. Any idea why or what it meant when she did that? MC is a guy who can create a slicing shockwave doing an iai slash. Main antagonist was a guy he had beheaded, first bad guy had rock hard skin, and MC was being blackmailed by a crazy old man he keeps running into in the movies who poisoned him with a shuriken.

Anyway I wonder what happened to the hero team who voted for him to 'cease into existence because tbh we're deathly afraid of you'? Did they die leaving their falsified legacy to fruition? Hope the noble neighbour family isn't one of the descendants. I'm iffy about that kinda shit lol

@Mathiason I'm not familiar with what movie that is, but I think in old Japanese (or some other ethnicity around the world etc) culture, growing out your hair is a sign of nobility & high status. Cutting hair is akin to an act of deserting your family honour or throwing away your affiliation or status & to live nameless, like shedding your family/last name. Or, you're simply ready to die while not tainting your family name further with your defiant actions. Some works from various sources around the world do refer to people that have no family name as commoners too, right? So, cutting hair & throwing away your family names work the same way. Probably.

If he doesn’t send Bass away he would end up taking over the territory in the same state he is now, and likely ruin it. He’s send his son away so he will be able the gain outside experience and maybe grow as a person. Even in the event he doesn’t grow since he isn’t in the territory Ted can take over in his place.
