@Vincentius
You can have a story that's power fantasy / simple / escapism and still have actually interesting parts to it.
@kikix12
I apologise for not listing
literally every single point of interest a series can possibly have when giving examples. Slice of life quite often has fluff, documentaries/biographies have information, comedies have humor, etc. And lmao @ "forced drama", did you miss the past few chapters?
I'm currently re-reading the Belgariad, which is a fantasy book series that's as tropey as they come. It's the "zero-to-hero farmer boy" trope, a fantasy journey of chasing the magical doodad with an adventuring party made up of a wize wizard grandpa, a big gruff heart-of-gold barbarian dude, the sly thief, the princess, etc. It's a run-of-the-mill children's book series, but manages to be entertaining thanks to the character interactions. Hell, the writer (Eddings) basically rewrote the same story 4 times (more or less, 2 of them have a different protagonist) and they still manage to be an enjoyable read.
