It's interesting. A lot of people seem to dislike the format.
I like it a lot, personally. It leaves a lot to interpretation. I feel like the author has gotten a lot better at story telling over the course of writing it as well.
On the one hand, it isn't as "in-depth" as a more common format, but on the other, the "lack" of exposition enables it to move at a nice pace, and the "framework" is well written. I personally don't mind not having all the details handed to me, especially if they're superficial. Don't get me wrong, they can add to a story, but if they aren't integral, and the core is strong, it's still enjoyable without.
