"Tarou" or Taro is a common male Japanese name, can be used as a stand alone name, or a suffix, i.e. the hero of the Japanese folktale, Momotaro (momo, meaning peach, plus -taro) or Jotaro (Jo + -taro) from Stardust Crusader.
"Maru" means "circle" and is a common suffix for boys, sword, and ships' names, such as Mori Ranmaru, an attendant to Oda Nobunaga.
