I am glad the princess shut down that provocation but in the first place, aside from exciting the hero's speedrun bone, why IN THE FUCKING HELL would he have to fucking rebuild the village by himself? after defeating the demon lord and one of the generals? After forcefully being summoned and being put to work with his life on the line WHY Aren't you being a bit too fucking cooky there? AND WHEN WERE YOU EVEN GOING TO TALK ABOUT COMPENSATION? Not once!
That's why I really like the real princess, she even apologized for the summon and understood it was irrational to expect salvation from him in the first place, so I was even a bit mad when the guild master Kiira called him a coward for (not really) running away from the castle.... But sadly here we're noticing the downgrade in writing in order to conveniently extend the plot, it could've been executed way better, just throw a "is necessary for the true ending" and you're good to go and while it doesn't make it right for him to do it in the first place, at least it makes sense for his goal.

Shachiku having a skill with glitched out text, and a crossdressing uncle handling Eida's duties when she's away seems like Anverse's methods of filling in the blanks that were easily dismissed in the video game.
