I think the pacing is just fine, since about half of the chapter is dedicated to Yuki slowly finding out what has happened and that Dion is a different person now.

About the “showing power scaling” thing; remember that this is the first intelligent dungeon that has ever appeared, and this mob seems to be the first of its kind that gets smarter during fights. This does not mean that the black shadow is the end boss of the dungeon, nor if there’s a mastermind somewhere that are creating intelligent dungeons to kill adventurers.

Now I haven’t read the WN so I don’t know where the story is going etc, but so far I personally like the development so far.

The pacing for this whole fight has been a little slow-ish, but it could be so much worse.

We first had the group there fighting, then we got to see Yuki go crazy and then get her ass handed to her, and then Dion now going in and saving everyone...where this goes now I am unsure.

This chapter had a lot of Yuki reactions to Dion being different but also finding out that Dion was kicked out/abandoned and she had no idea at all. She definitely seems to be fuming at what happened to Dion because of her other members, but also recognizes that she knew nothing about the others in the group because she only cared about Dion.

I am sure after this Yuki and Dion will have a heartfelt reunion where she says she did not him to be away from her so what everyone else did was not what she wanted. I am also sure with the way the two of them are they will be in a party again after this.

Usually I like this manga's art, but man I can't help but feel like this powerup form of Dion is a bit too tryhard, I don't like it.

I see it as a transition point... messy because it is incomplete or rather, can´t go full power... if in 20 more chapters when we just come out of this castle... maybe he will get a form of power up to endure more of his dragon power

Why is everyone acting like the childhood friend really did something wrong in this situation. The other guild members never harassed the main character in front of her cuz they knew she would do something about it just like they never told her that they tried to murder him. The only thing wrong or her is that she's kind of ignorant and gullible.

Hell the main character is just as bad if not worse he literally decided to leave his best friend with a little group of murderers and a guy that said he wanted to have his way with her. All because he didn't want to hold her back that's the dumbest excuse ever. While this entire chapter in this whole fight has been about trying to make her seem like trash like she hasn't done anything.

So we got the dungeon gate keeper (not even the dungeon boss? maybe?) surviving and revealing a power up after the Mc pushed his limits and is struggling to stand. We have the dragon potential wifu able to stand in and beat the boss. The other being who knows her possessing the axe dude waiting on the side lines to most likely kill the Mc because he isn't worthy of her. Yuki healed physically but barely hanging by a thread mentality sitting on the side lines as well. Sounds about right. Next we will have Dragon wifu beat the gate keeper while the possessed axe dude will likely attack given the chance. Yuki will either fight him after he attacked Dion and hurt him or get in the way and injured in the prosses causing the mc to snap.

I think the problem only on how mangaka execute story or reader's patient. Some individuals may look it's good for development and at other hand, they see the battle is dragging

It is not just a mob. It's a plot device to show Yuki, scout party leader (as guild representative), and whatever possessing baldy how strong Dion has become. Thus, the boss has very visible and audible gear changes, and playing-with-food attitude.

This is a ruler for strength scaling, a role that alternatively could be done with a tournament or series of duels.

I'm glad it didn't go those ways. The prolonged fights (and monologues) were just some spacers to avoid multiple revealing in the same chapter, I think.

With scout leader and Yuki got the message in previous chapters and Baldy saw through it at beginning. I think the next chapter would be just a climaxing ending of the boss. No more talk.

What I really curious now is that will those three get out of the dungeon alive, provided Yuki now know.

Edit, I just want to add that, so far, this is the first act that all known plot-active factions are gathered in a place (maybe except those who betray Eldora). This is likely the intended content for the plot. All fights between the kicker party are actual fillers, but the author might just want to torture them.

However, I won't argue that the fight scences of Yuki and Dion could be done quicker.

Barely escaping death just to be put into another near death situation. And if Yuki doesn't kill them, I'm sure oh dumbass will say something that will make Eldora want to kill them.

My expectations were low from the start but the series doesn't show enough nipples to justify this whole package. I need 24/7 nipple slips, preferably of the female dragon variety but maybe more, if the author wants me distracted enough to enjoy this.

I like how they are hinting the bald dude to also be a dragon, at first I thought it was weird he had slitted eyes last chapter but I think now it's pretty obvious that he is also a dragon. First, this is his mega evolution form, hence going from dragon to dragon-fire kind.

Second, it seems guild party groups are a social expectation in this society. You have a front attacker, middle attacker, long range attack, healer, and tank. It was just her and Dion, which others questioned if they could be effective like that, and she gave into society's pressure to take on others even if she didn't want to or to even befriend them. So she took on a mid fighter, Segri, and long range fighter with the girl mage, and then they replaced Dion with another healer. She then treated them with distance as all she cared about was Dion. Dion was trying to make sure they lived, but they resented how close he was to her.
