Honestly, why da fuk is it always like this? A (dark)mature story starts off unique and interesting but slowly devolves into a very generic development. When I think about it, the tension and edge-of-the-seat feelings are only there because you know the characters are going to make some bad decisions. The patterns are all there. First, insecurity intensifies. Second, characters finally looked like they came to a firm solid decision only to subvert the expectation on the next part where it is reveal the characters are still indecisive like before. And then, the same thing keeps repeating for a few times until something runs out.

Yeah, at this point it's turning more into a story of "why will they weasel out of their promise" instead of "how do they get pushed to the brink", and it's kinda sad to see it stray from the premise like this. I guess the mangaka thought a "commitment" triangle was the best solution, but yikes.

@hikufalafel What would you expect them to do? They are psychologically broken individuals. Yet, they aren't broken in the same way terrorists are. They aren't working toward some grand goal and willing to perform whatever deeds necessary to get there. They are basically only drifting and saw no decent future for themselves. However, if they suddenly do see a future, they would obviously hesitate. That's just how humans and any animals would work. Their suicidal tendies also aren't overly strong or they would have been long dead already.
