Page 3 doesn't directly imply a good ending. It looks like they're embraced each other not out of love (although that would be a trash fire route I want to see), but accepting their fate. And not a happy one.
That thought did somewhat cross my mind, but the ambiguity is part of what makes us want to keep reading, I think. Even discussing it right now I can't wait for the next chapter.

For the most part, not particularly. However, due to the syntax difference, words partially hidden/left unsaid can be quite challenging to translate (for me at least). To be honest, I couldn't read some words in one certain text because they were so blurry that I had to ask someone else for help lol. It'd be nice if later someone can guess that one! I think it is indeed better or rather the shortest possible path to his salvation or an end to his misery, only her alone could save or end him now. I believe it still better than left in the dark blaming himself with no solution as his mentality is already at suicide state and it just the matter of time.
You know what, I'm going to read this "Usagi Drop" that I barely know anything about apart from this apparent PTSD that people here and there have about it, and I'm probably going to think that the memetic opprobrium for it is excessive.
