Frankly a logical, calm man will quickly see the issues in that logic. But they choose their words purposely to make sure in his unstable mind his thoughts wander to that conclusion by emphasing that. By mentioned "Shika killed his Sister" with no extra context his thoughts will obviously concentrate on that and then they go and play that. Honestly that is beyond vile to use the poor guy just to hurt a little girl for things she had no control over and in such a manner too. Frankly I put most of the blame on the half brother though, it's rather obvious by now the other Girl is not comfortable with this anymore ... I hope she does the right thing in the end.

Actually from what I remember right they did find evidence. In early chapter it was well know online the father was a Rapist. The Problem is still that instead of going to the Police he went and killed him himself. Japan considers this kind of Self-justice murder which has a Minimum sentence of 5 years up to Life Imprisonment. It wasn't in affect but he went there with the Intent to kill (and also stabbed him multiple times) so it would have been a higher sentence. That it was "only" 7 years probably means the circumstances where acknowledged.

Maybe, but his life experiences in prison should've prepared him for this moment. It could've been useful information to turn over to the authorities later. He did not even take the time to ascertain the validity of the recording. The flawed logic displayed in that scene here is this manga's attempt at portraying ex-cons as mentally unstable people, which is just scummy to me because it creates this negative image of all other ex-cons who are just trying to do better.

The character is fucking broken internally from everything he went through and did, and trying to do better, but everyone around him is proverbially throwing fuel on top of him and then lighting a match. That's kind of the point of the story so far. You're pretty much wrapping him up as a generic ex-convict mindset that doesn't actually reflect the character the story's been putting through the wringer the entire time. Plus, you know, Japanese prisons are a very different thing from American prisons.

Honestly the part that bothers me is showing the inciting incident in so much detail. It didn't really need to go that far just to hammer home how fucked up the scenario is, much less visible nudity of Yuri just to make it extra shocking. Yeesh.

I don't normally agree with the label of "depression porn" a lot of people throw around on different manga, but this one just feels like the story is becoming kind of a mess, and laying this on the main character is just cruelty for its own sake. It's a pretty uncomfortable scene, but after stepping back and thinking about it, it just creates a lot of questions that don't seem to make sense. It almost feels like the author just wants as many twists as possible, even if they're farfetched and hard to follow. Hopefully things can get wrapped into a more coherent flow, but I'm starting to feel like the plot's going in too many directions.

Honestly with the premise of the entire story being "guy killed a teacher for abusing his sister, then is stalked by the daughter of the teacher for unknown intentions", I readily figured it was always going to be drama rather than some sort of healing. The entire story is constantly poised as a mystery where going deeper into everyone's causes and intentions was only going to make things worse. So I'm not really shocked by the direction.

The fact that everyone but the main character constantly has roundabout means of fucking everything up as things get worse and worse is what's really eating at me. It's virtually everybody rotating around him throwing drama bombs at his face hoping to see a reaction that vindicates them.

It's kinda worse. It's not him they are after but Shiina. She is trying to become a family with him (For reasons that would probably pay any shrinks salary for a while) and two people decided for two very different reasons that "NO" that will not stand. So they try to throw a wedge between them by doing some seriously fucked up mindgames with him. At least the Girl is aware that what she is doing is fucked up (but is doing it anyway... bitch) while the half-brother needs a straight jacked.

Gonna give this mangaka exactly one chance to see how he gets himself out of the shitty storytelling corner he's sprinted right into. I don't have much hope for this to be resolved in a satisfying or even somewhat promising manner.
Also while I don't blame Shiika because she was a little kid at the time and she's currently still just a dumbass immature traumatized teenager. I think way too many of y'all are also being too harsh on the similarly dumbass immature, also traumatized for at least one of them, teenagers.
Overall this is a failure of the mangaka for not coming up with something better, the editor for not stopping the mangaka from going through with it, and the publisher for actually releasing this shlock. What wasted potential. This could've been resonant and meaningful, but we've upped the ante so much that we're shoulder-deep in melodrama territory now.

Really mad at the author for thinking they can get away with "blaming a 5-6 year old for not doing something about rape" as a plot point beyond a cliffhanger and fake out, because what exactly the fuck is a child who possibly doesn't even understand what sex is (at best) or is being viciously raped and brutalized themselves (at worst) supposed to do about that?

You would think he would've grown a pair while in prison, but nah i forgot this is the author's unrealistic misery p*rn fantasy. This is why I have respect for American correctional institutions beacause while they might be harsh, they prepare you for any situation at the end of the day.

EDIT: Like for crying out loud, she was just a kid when that whole thing happened. How can the pathetic MC expect a KID to know right from wrong? If he was really this hardened ex-con, he would've had a pragmatic response to the reveal which takes Shiika's undeveloped age into account as well as her possible mental state at the time. Now the author has set up the perfect misunderstanding misery p*rn fantasy plot. So unrealistic smh
