Well curiosity won out so I took a peek at the raws since the final one was free.

No thanks, man.
To be fair, DeepL can save a lot of time for translators. Instead of writing the whole thing yourself, you just need to check if DeepL did it right and fix the parts it butchered, which is much faster.

The problem is, if you're going to use DeepL anyway, just translate directly from the original language. Even if you can't verify the accuracy because you don't understand Japanese, you can still guess how well it did from the Chinese translation. Unless you don't understand Chinese either, in which case I agree: no thanks, man.

Agreed. But it seems obvious the translator is fluent in chinese which is why he opted for the double, as noted in the last page of this chapter.
my fault man i speak but not read natively
Thanks for the hard work boss, imo the translation flows well. No reason not to use ML for rote tasks like these with some human QC

Honestly I don't know why it ended up like this. There wasn't a reason for those two to run away. He could've just brought her back to his mom and things would be, like... at least going in a good direction.

This excuse is only valid if the translator can’t handle the original language.

But DeepL (the translator) can do Japanese -> English, so that’s no reason to double-translate. And once it’s translated, it’s just a matter of comparing the result to the Chinese version.

At this point, all they did was needlessly accumulate inaccuracies and mistakes for absolutely zero benefit.

Pretty sure he did? It was a mitigating factor in his sentencing (along with his young age) which is why he got out fairly quickly. He just doesn't open up about the full sequence of events because he feels its his fault that his sister died and that he could have done something more.
I'm talking about his colleagues they might not know the specifics of the case.

And I get that but it still feels a little contrived. Feel guilty about your sister dying sure don't feel guilty for killing the guy that did it tho and don't feel like a murderer because of it

The thing is, what could he have done if his sister didn't say anything to him, or anyone for that matter and for obvious reasons?? MC needs deep therapy if he wants to get rid of that guilt of his, he did nothing wrong

I don't think "yeah I killed him, but he deserved it for raping a child" would really hold much water when he's been spotted hiding a young girl in his apartment. Perhaps telling them that he was avenging his sister would win some sympathy otherwise, but not with Shiika there and rumours swirling that he's a pedophile.

Okay, I have to know. I know that there's a disconnect between western and Japanese culture and some things just aren't apparent unless you're in-the-know (like how taking a bath at a guy's place is basically saying, "Netflix and chill but actually sex" and that's why so many romcom manga have incidents of it): But would the average Japanese person actually think that a guy that killed the FUCKING RAPIST OF HIS SISTER that drove her to suicide as some horrible murderer?

Because, I don't know about Japanese people, but if I was working with a guy and found out he stabbed to death a pedophile that raped his sister and she had killed himself... I'd buy that guy a fucking beer. I'd invite him over to my place for dinner.

Japanese society attitude goes “don’t know, don’t care, it will never happen to me anyway!”

I lost count the number of times in a manga plot where the MC is falsely accused of chikan on the train when he tries to catch the real molester, and then went on to think after the fallout that intervening when a crime was ongoing was a mistake.

It's good that Kazuma stay in touch with his mom, but she is worried sick, but things need time.

The company okay in hiring convinced criminals, Kazuma although "a murderer" known by rumours or by the boss is the one "innocent", they're most likely not so "innocent" so something like assuming he is a pedophile that keeps a child "locked up" in his apartment is by their twisted psychology correct.
This unfortunately will follow Kazuma unless he moves really far away and changes identity.

Staying together with Shiika seems to calm her, but Shiika knows she is substituting for Kazuma sister, without more care of others it will be hard to heal all wounds.

Damn, that pedophile was using Yuri friendship to Shiika, unless she obey and keep quiet he would do something same to own daughter... but... there's more to it?!? Fuck him with a rusty morningstar.

Thanks for scanlation!

They're both traumatised and mentally ill, dude...
Yes, but it's not congruent with other actions they've taken before. "Let's go home" feels like the thing he would've wanted to do after catching her, but instead he decided to... not. To rent an apartment somehow, work construction jobs somehow(under the table?), and then eventually go home. It's a strange, faulty step in what had been a story with fairly consistent characterization around what their guilt and trauma urged them to do.
