They need to secure it in stages.
Stage 1: The first venture should be securing the hoard, cus it is currently just sitting there for anyone that can get to it, to just take it. They need to block off entrances to the loot and get a trustworthy security team to guard/patrol. And setting up a temporary base camp near the entrance.
Stage 2: Next setting up a more permanent base camp for dwarven resettlement and reconstruction. Establishing a safe route and building a secure warehouse for processing and appraising.
stage 3: Expanding and fortifying the above. Forts, roads for wagons, vaults ect.

Did anyone ask for my analysis on this? Probably not, but this is just my 2cents that I had rattling around.

everyone is always out to get something no one does anything for free and that's a really important thing to learning when you do you can use it to get people to work for you just keeping in mind they are after something

Thanks for this short one, makes sense that dealing with so much treasure aint easy when you take it realistically.

i remember The King from Goblin Slayer story. he was the leader of the adventurer party that defeated the Demon Lord. he often says "being adventurer fighting the demon lord army is easier than being a king leading a country". i'm happy to see that sentiment plays out in this manga

Relax, Will, you're the OP MC of isekai story. You would be successful in all of your undertaking.

p10 I love it how Will -- and thus, the author of the story -- recognizes the value of merchants. The Warrior might be the liberator, but The Merchant is the one that brings wealth.

Will's POV had always been wise. Like that one when he commented about The Bishop.

And in a similar way, Will entrusts Tonio just like Will has the utmost respect for The Bishop.

We don't need to imagine. Most jackpot winners lose most of it within a few years and end up in worse economic situations than before winning big.
that's less a curse and more, people are poor have bad financial decisions

It's surprising to me that they're only tackling the potential theft problem now. But I guess it's temporarily protected by its distance from civilization and its sheer mass: it's certainly way too much treasure for even a party of looters to take away in one night. The hordes of foolhardy treasure hunters will come inevitably once the tale of Will slaying the legendary dragon spreads far and wide, and they need to secure it by then.
