Man this story is awesome. Not only does it break from the regular Isekai way of an OP protagonist that is unrivaled, it also has the courage to have the protagonist fail. I really hope it continues like this.

So... that severed hand-snake-thing injected Will with that god's blood(instead of venom)? Ok. In short, he's going to become undead too, huh? However, since it's done without a contract, do it mean that while undead he won't be bound to Stagnate?

My current guess is that this combined with him receiving the protection or blessing of the goddess of reincarnations/transmigration/souls will allow him to not be bound to Stagnate while still being undead. Heck, maybe he'll even be able to extend his blessing(or just make use of it) to protect his family from Stagnate. That'd be cool.

The author really cares about philosophical themes. Indeed, perpetual life with Stagnate is the same as perpetual death. He would deny suffering, but also overcoming and growth. That's why he's evil. The undead can't progress.

Stagnate is really being a bro here; offering Will what amounts to Valhalla simply for being cool. Besides, he still needs someone to guard the demon high king's seal. So I'm sure some sort of agreement could've been arranged.
