Rather than flame, there is more focus on the reincarnation aspect. In the inky black oblivion called death, she lights up the darkness with a lantern, and leads people to their next destination. She is the distant light of life and hope that casts away shadows and midnight, leading souls towards the next morning.
For this setting and context, she’s perfect. Sorry she’s not some redhead with a battle bra and a flamethrower named after a volcano. I’m sure you’re really disappointed.
