Who knows what kind of universe they are living in, but it would still be a stretch for a corporation to be able to alter government records for no good reason (a reason that is of zero interest to the government).

well I don't know myself as I not someone crazy rich in my country. But, it's not that unthinkable tho, money rules everywhere. If there is people who got that much money and have long history of standing in society, they would planted their own trained people to government, police, army, news media, judicial authorities, and many more strategical ruler in the country. I can give you example in my country, you might be not believed me as it was practically being ignored by the authorities in my country, that at 2019 there is around 500 (ignore the number the point is it was a lot of people) volunteers died distributing votes to central government. and they said (the authorities) said they died because of overworked. What a load of bullshit they spouted...

anyway, my point is, if even history can be altered like that, changing one people's personal history whose practically nobody would not be that hard compared to some of bigger case in real life.

Japan is a highly developed society, so while it would be possible for the corporation to have its own people infiltrating government offices or to bribe a few people, it's another question if it's worth it. If/when the crime was eventually uncovered, it woud send people to jail for a couple of years, all for the sake of arranging a caretaker for the girl in the most convoluted way imaginable. Yeah, I reckon it far more likely it never visited the author's mind that if Corporation A can do something, then Corporation B would most certainly be able to do it as well.

she is from a familly with 300 trillion yen in assets thats 1 trillion 965 billion 441 million USD they can do just about anything theyre literally a plutocratic family that controls all the banks in the country wouldnt be hard for them to do this at all as for people digging around ya bad idea unless you want to end up at odds with the most powerful family in japan maybe even theyre worlds verse it just wouldnt be worth the trouble with no real benefit/payout they are also the schools largest contributor and primary shareholder
