Shame he didn’t use his time travel, but all’s well that ends well.

An asspull? Pah! Preposterous!!!

Scenario1:
Healing god turns into a fetus and dies. Saike uses lake Gokyo again and undoes his death. Logical happy end.

Scenario2:
Healing god saves Saike. Saike oversleeps and misses the window for going back in time to save the healing god. I feel cheated.

Scenario3:
Saike just forgets about his oracle and lets the healing god remain dead. I question his character and feel cheated. Really, really, cheated!

Scenario4:
Mangaka didn't want to draw / make us watch the beloved healing god, as a reward for his heroic deed, turn into a fetus and die horribly, even if it's only temporary...
So his oracle just shuts down instead. (Or maybe the mangaka was really into doing that, but his editor didn't let him)

I don't think there was any way of having the healing god die for good without it being an even bigger asspull in some way and at least this asspull forgoes having someone revert into a fucking fetus and die.

edit: And there is still Kuroda who could possibly prevent the healing god's death by sealing his oracle, as long as the de-aging isn't instant

@Thomaster Yup, just feels like the author made up this shit about Saike's power after realizing how he is too overpowered for the story to be sustainable, and scenario 1 would just bring him back to square one, but he doesn't have the balls to just kill off the healimg god so we get this bullshit instead.

I'm just here to say that on this scenario, even if his brain stays restored by the healing god upon resets, his body won't.

Then again, it would be interesting to see the scenario where Saike returned right after being healed only to find out that he's still as sick as before, and then find out the way to bring Kuroda somehow to stop the healing god de-aging process.
But I guess given Saike personality, he'd just gonna lie about being totally healthy after healed by healing god on previous resets thus saving the last heal.

@Zael
The last possibility is that going back in time undoes the "healing", if what the healing god did was makes Saike's body catch up to his mind, it's impossible to both save the healing god('s oracle) and also be alive.

Hmm, I understood it as if the brain somewhat teleported into the past every time, but if it's indeed just a branching timeline where the transferred consciousness just incurs more damage, then it's weird that it accumulates from a single days respawns.
