I get dressing differently to not attract certain people, but then you gotta wonder whether they're comfortable enough to dress differently. From looking rich to poor, or at the very least 'poor casual', I imagine dressing like that is more comfortable than expensive suits while trying not to make a mess of it—unless they have enough money to burn doing dry cleaning.Feel like that thought process is kinda why she frets about it in the first place, tbh. She wants a purer relationship that isn't just someone going "oh she obviously wants to fuck because she's a succubus, right?", and now that she knows Leon accepts her anyway, she's being a bit more honest about it.
It's kinda like when you hear about rich dudes who date and pretend to be poor, to avoid attracting people who just like the money. Then they bring up the money later on when they're already comfortable + decide to be more honest about it.
For succubi and some women, I don't know. During hotter times of the year, I can understand them dressing lighter with more exposure, but maybe for some reason, even if it's below freezing temperatures, succubi rather dress with more exposure because they're more comfortable like that, and not just because they're trying to attract and seduce men. It could be a part of succubus culture that I could understand even a little bit.
But here it seems there are outliers in the succubus community, and not satisfied with her living conditions, Sophia tries to live a human woman's life and goes as far as becoming a nun to both blend into the human community, get along with them, and hide her succubus features/powers. I wonder how much discomfort Sophia had to push through as a succubus to live the peaceful nun life. I get there's difficulty trying to find people to understand and accept you and your background without jumping to biases and stigmas, but Sophia gave up trying at one point and used what she hated most about her succubus identity to fuck things over for everyone until MC comes along, even using her powers on him as a test after springing the truth of her identity on him all at once. And now she kind of accepts herself as a succubus and use its charms to win MC over.
I don't know, I still like Sophia as a character, definitely more than Maria so far. I just still don't get her thought process to totally risk it all and possibly destroy what good relations she had with MC to reveal her identity and demand acceptance in such a flashy way instead of taking the slow, careful approach and letting him ease into it.
