@KDSaltyPony it's a difference in culture. Society on Japan is very "choking". Especially if you are native. So it's a recurring fantasy trope to just run away without thinking of the consequences since they can't to that in real life.

@Nyaaa Well, they actually do run away in reality, if something bother them in you, they tend to avoid you even if you were a bit close in the first place. But I agree, it's cultural, they don't work on their relational problems, they just ignore them and flee. They put a greater importance in not hurting other people. What they don't really see (as a society, not individually) is the fact that silence often hurt much more. I think that's what they tend to show in mangas.
Still, even if they are things we want to do and I can't in my culture, that doesn't mean it's OK to put it everywhere in stories we write. I think it's quite a poor character design. It's fine sometimes, but when it's the only thing your characters do, it means that's the only thing you can show as an author... My comment was more a sarcastic truism out of boredom 😁. I was not really shocked, more annoyed. It's like their "Hone" & "Tatemae", it's not shocking IMO, it's just that too much of it tend to be a bother, just like stating truth all the time, or people that only live based on a single cliche principle...

I'm not sure my explanation is clear 'cause English is not my mama tongue...

Ok, that's it. MC is shit. You can oppose incest all you like but he doesn't give a damn about his own family. At least take imouto with you. I dunno, for the sake of introduce her to outside world or the clan is fucked up so save her before her life ruined or something. But no, he just left while throwing her under the bus. He doesn't give a shit to the one closest to him and acting like he is the only thing important. Like don't you love your cute sibling even as a family?

The bottom line is, the incestuous marriage can be handled differently that the current garbage development.

He didn't know if the rest of the outside world would be like that, plus her learning that it's fucked up would be hard as she's learned her entire life that it was good and she also was actively excited and happy at the though of marrying him.

Like I get if you dont want to marry your sister and all but you should let everyone know that. Dont leave people hanging and then run away. He doesnt care about anybody all he wants to do is study magic. If the spoiler thing dont work stop reading my comment. That
dream he had about his sister going all misery on him just futhers my point about him not caring for anybody but himself.

Actually
given what we've seen of her behavior outside of the dream, that might just be his subconscious noticing her true nature (fanatically into the idea of marrying him.) Him running is due to his family not even once mentioning this tradition for this entire time and only mentioning it near the deadline. He sensed that they we're being irresponsible, and that his sis might not take his rejection well either; on top of his curiosity of the world at risk of being blocked, he straight up panicked and ran. Essentially he wasn't ready for commitment and everyone tried to force it on him out of no-where. Also to be fair, if he tried to talk them out of it, things might not turn out that well. Sure he might get them to stop the marriage, but it wouldn't end there since, his sister would pursue him aggressively.

Just completed reading the WN. Somehow I still have some lingering doubts in the ending of the story considering how nuts of a yandere brocon Giselle is even before being influenced by a nasty spirit. I've probably read too much NTR, Incest, and Yandere-tagged materials.
Imouto-chan is probably planning to handle Abel's pent-up desires during Mea's pregnancy...!?
