@Nyaaa Well, they actually do run away in reality, if something bother them in you, they tend to avoid you even if you were a bit close in the first place. But I agree, it's cultural, they don't work on their relational problems, they just ignore them and flee. They put a greater importance in not hurting other people. What they don't really see (as a society, not individually) is the fact that silence often hurt much more. I think that's what they tend to show in mangas.
Still, even if they are things we want to do and I can't in my culture, that doesn't mean it's OK to put it everywhere in stories we write. I think it's quite a poor character design. It's fine sometimes, but when it's the only thing your characters do, it means that's the only thing you can show as an author... My comment was more a sarcastic truism out of boredom 😁. I was not really shocked, more annoyed. It's like their "Hone" & "Tatemae", it's not shocking IMO, it's just that too much of it tend to be a bother, just like stating truth all the time, or people that only live based on a single cliche principle...
