also her situation really seems like those misunderstanding scene where the character is pressured to get along with yet the other person heard it and instead of confronting them they decide to "get back", though again this is subverted and she reacted strongly despite how thhe guy is trying to help her

Completely unhinged writing. Sometimes I want to curse manga writers with a disease that makes you go outside and experience ordinary human interactions for a few years. There are no characters in this manga that act like real human beings. Everyone is a mashup of tropes stuffed into a human shape. It's beyond simulacrum: we're like 3 levels of abstraction from someone who ever talked to a person.

the mom and the step-dad blamed the murder on his dad so they wouldn’t get in trouble (evil but reasonable)

his friend abandoned him because she wanted to fit in (shitty but reasonable)

meanwhile the FMC’s bullshit was… magic, that’s it
please give female antagonists some actual depth for the love of God

Is such a good way to put it, lol. Dunno wtf is going on with the author, but all of that melodrama is so bloody unnecessary and beyond contrived.

Sure, the otherworld has magic spells and whatever.
But Earth? Yeah that gets 0 suspension of disbelief...

The worst thing about this chapter is that the dad ended up in prison. Out of everything, that's so much more pointlessly cynical then everything else.

It's a real shame it has to go like this, this is a fun enough story, without the Chinese melodrama.
