I think the hero is a bit older than Cross but she does seem more emotionally mature than any other love interest, while Giselle IS his age give or take but has been a bully in a misguided attempt to look after him.

Hard to imagine Cross ending up with any of the current romance leads/interests given how dumb he is.
But I can't quite get a bead on how much time has passed in-story, and those sorts of things take time, so. That, and his growth in terms of his abilities and overall power/skill set is astronomical, which belies the fact that he's still a child.

So his naivety makes sense, except that no one's being straight with him on that particular subject, which means his obliviousness is only going to invite more misunderstanding and even potentially dangerous situations. (Refer to Seras abducting him and the fight between her and the Trio as one example.) And the danger factor is the sticking point, as more and more people get more and more powerful and get more and more desperate to claim him for themselves.

But , "all in service to the gimmick", as they say.

See the things is I don’t believe much time has past if I’m guessing it’s only been a couple months but I’ll leave that to be confirmed by those binging with a better idea but I’d wager it could have been more than half a year which isn’t that much time for progress relationship wise and considering he becoming more self conscious of woman in general even those out of the typical dating bracket for his age I think they all have a fair shot however that depends on the author to see how far they’ll take it but he’s definitely crushing on the hero whether he knows it yet or not
