Still kinda dissatisfied with this adaptation the original plot of the ? gendered knight has been replaced with a convoluted and loose plot. Tofia was way more boyish in the oneshot very disappointed with the current design

My guess is, that Itsuka is the one that is making everyone go berserk as a way to keep Shaayu preoccupied with being a hero, as I assume he's trying to divert her attention away from something else. Not sure what it is, but I think it's cause Shaayu with no purpose goes berserk, and he found this out after defeating the demon King, so he replicated this in other heroes to stop her mind from eroding like Toifa, and forgetting who she is completely? Anyhow, I'm guessing he fell in love with her but somehow she comes to a tragic end, (highly likely, like how someone else suggested that since Shaayu is a homunculus she doesn't live as long as humans, or maybe due to her being a homunculus her berserk rage causes her to perish?) so to stop that, he's been reversing time to give him to to research ways to save her, which is affecting others around him which in turn gives him an excuse to go to wherever, to try to recover there memory as he stalls for more time.
