Usually, I’d agree about the age thing. I can’t stand the questionably young shit they always pull. However, a homunculus isn’t human. They are just a being that exists. She may be 5 in humans years but human years aren’t relative to her age. Like how the small character said to the dragon car sex guy “We are probably the same age”. The same way elves in a lot of stories don’t age like humans. They could be 100 years old and still be considered a teenager.

The main premise that drew me in got nuked instead.

I liked the tension and implied humor early on that implied like MC was weirded out by hero being flirty with him thinking he was a guy. They kind of ruined that whole comedic angle that made it amusing/fun to read, plus the aspect of the hero(ine) having feelings for MC.... but nope. Absolute missed opportunity. And then...
