I think this was always meant to be a short serialization. Just a teaser for the full Heaven Chapter that's apparently coming this winter.

I see, so Kurumada sensei will be releasing this new saga in mini arcs like this, at least he will (try to) avoid the same problems Next Dimension had. Still... even if he releases 6 average size chapters weekly every six months, how long will he take to tell this story?

Do we know that that's the format he plans to use? I just figured this was a tease to get the fans excited for the full serialization this winter.

Pretty much, Kurumada announced last Thursday he is working in "season 2" of this arc. So it is safe to assume he will release 6 chapters weekly and then take around a whole semester between releases.
