Well, this is fascinating.

Very often, manga tend to be oriented towards a broad audience, which means that there are concessions to potential Western readers. While strong Japanese cultural mores do overshadow this to a massive degree, it is extremely uncommon to encounter a manga that is so heavily steeped in Japanese iconography without a hint of Westernism. In fact, the most 'Western' thing in this (very impressive) first chapter is the Western style shirt the MC is wearing.

The art is some of the most impressive I have seen in a long while - clean, detailed, intricate even. No messy half-assed concepts here; there is a very strong grasp of distinct iconography on display here. I'm really appreciating the dichotomy between MC and his niece with regards to design - he, the rebel who ran away from a traditionalist shrine upbringing, clad in simple Western clothing that fits in with modern Japanese business sensibilities, with his niece clad in yukata, short tabi and geta, clearly as comfortable in them as he is in his getup. Plus, the fact that she already has two distinct and elaborate designs within the traditional spectrum - a mourning kimono and a more casual, if still ornate, yukata. It's really a pleasure to see an artist take the time and effort to draw such beautifully distinct clothes. I hope they continue it.

As mentioned, the story is very Japanese, and I wish there was more of it to consider. I'm rather put in the mind of 'Samurai Deeper Kyo' with regards to the quality of the art and the setup, so I'm very much looking forward to more of this.

Full 10/10 for the artwork, and the story is rather different from much of what I've been faced with in recent days. Too early to tell, but this is a fascinating concept, well executed, and I very much expect good things from it.

Gentlemen of culture will know this artist for certain reasons, but we're here to talk about the story, I guess. We're about 8 chapters in at this point, and there appearts to be an engaging premise that captures the interest beyond just some nice-looking ladies (plenty of that too!). However, the author ought to lean in to that premise more, as the first several chapters after the first move slowly. This is not a spooky supernatural battle manga, it's a harem management type deal with some hot chicks.

romance extends to harem romcom stuff. prob best not to hope for them looking for stability, talking about their future, and opening a savings account together with any of the girls.

He is too "kind" and have too much patient, and everyone so far pretty much a prick. Its pretty hard to me to enjoy it. It doesn't feel like he a real person, no anger no nothing and it feel dull


Also when I read first chapter I thought its has to be Hinagiku to be the protector, to be the only Miko. If there is many other, I feel like that stake should be lifted or lighter since other can fill in just fine. Like, why don't she just quit? Or take it easy

even if you want to avenge your family, throwing away your life to danger is not the way to do it.
