He did it?!!

Also, thank you for scanlating this whole series! What a weird ride through and through. Paru, for a lack of a better word, is truly an eccentric and odd author, but that's her charm. Even if the plot is kinda messy at some point, even if the art is even messier, Sanda, Beastars, Beast Complex, and her other works sure are fascinating to read through.

Can't wait to delve into her two other on-going series, about a girl... being sexually harassed by a ghost, and about... literal beastiality... oh boy.

hmmmm....

I'll be honest, what is the point of telling us Ono could theoretically be brought back to life do nothing with it. Sidelining Fuyumura for nearly 50 chapters and then ending on "yeah she had a kid I guess"

I think Sanda could have been much better if Paru Itagaki had a strict editor to keep her on track rather than the entire visiting gods arc happening.

Satisfying enough ending I guess even though this last leg made no real sense but that's pretty much par for the course for as messy as the writing was overall.

Hey, how come they never revived Fuyumura's gf even though there was a whole arc about getting her body? I mean I'd get not doing that but she was the ignition point of the story and yet it just fizzled with no explanation. I expected some small revelation about her at some point but nothing.

Edit: The more I think about it the less pleased I feel. It's not even bad really it just sucks being disappointed in a series I largely think is very enjoyable. Making the timeskip a proper final arc and not so rushed might've gone a long way.

So, are Ono and Shiori together or did it end in nothing? I don't want to get too deep into the manga before watching the anime, but it bothers me that in the raws, the last chapter with Shiori only showed her alone.

Yeah the whole story began with ono then went off the rails and was forgotten

It's even worse than them talking about the beastar candidate then it never amounting to anything

Did she really have a child? Looking through the raws, I thought she was a kindergarten teacher.

Are you a virgin?

Sorry… I already did it…

Itagaki-sensei you can’t just throw that out at us without explaining anything

And yeah, I get the complaints here. Paru is very… iffy with the endings with her works, but in general I think she just goes “hey wanna hear what messed-up thoughts I have” and just makes it up as she goes along. And ending an improv session is never easy. Even here Sanda just goes “wait, why did I become a vigilante if nobody realizes I’m Santa Claus”

Well, in the end at least Santa got his Mrs. Claus. That has to count for something, right?

Oh, come on!

Good ending, but it feels rushed! At least give us a shot of the Fuyumura's family!

I always thought Paru would probably get along well with Mari Okada and Naoko Yamada. They all have a pretty unique take on Freudian motifs in teenage experience and thinking, lmao. Anyway, I hope the anime can at least cover the manga somehow.
this final chapter literally ended on Sanda looking at the list of children and finding a Fuyumura Ichie 3 years old. with Sanda proclaiming "What!? so this is child is Fuyumura's!?"
And the universe of this manga doesn't have same-sex families with children as some of social fantasy?

I wish this timeskip epilogue was longer, in general I hate timeskips in stories because they end up skipping a lot of things that would have been better off showing, and this one is no different.

There are some really cool ideas here, I loved how it shows that even without Sanda being present, what he did as both Sanda Kazushige and Santa Claus, helped people growing up and achieving their dreams. Amaya's pattesiere is booming thanks to the image of Santa, Yagyuda stopped coasting through life and married Hyoudou with both of them leaving an insane cult, and I specially love what was done with Fuyumura, she was always someone looking for guidence and companionship, Santa helped with being a father figure to her and Sanda helped her with being her friend, it's very cool to see that she decided to dedicate her life to helping children to also have such support.

Sanda was so worried about being Santa Claus that he forgetting that he is Sanda Kazushige first is a good way to show that in his search for where to go he forgot his own happiness showing that he didn't truly grow up, it's poetic in a way that what made him realize that was the girl that loved him that also didn't change, now they can both grow old together and make their own paths.

Sanda was a fun ride, I enjoy its madness and the lessons that are being told through them, I will never fully understand what goes through the mind of Paru Itagaki and I wouldn't have it in any other way.

Thank you guys so much for translating the series.

This whole story is a very weird drug fueled analogy of growing up.

At no point was the story about Oho because her death is the loss of innocence as she grown up faster and became a adult before she was meant to, at least compared with her classmates as she became alienated so she died, to bring her back is missing the point completely.

Are you saying that in a manga with the superhero Santa Claus as a metaphor for growing up, the death of one of the characters is a deep metaphor for the problems of growing up too early?
