I did a double take when translating to make sure I hadn't misread it. In fairness though I was a bit remiss and didn't take into account how the yen's plummeted since this chapter was originally released around 2020. Using mid-2020 rates it would be more like £1,100 or so. I might go back and add that to the note for more context.
