At any rate I had a good time with this, even with the rushed conclusion, everything that needs to happen, happened. And the couple were well developed enough.
Could had more fluff chapters tho. The axe is mighty however. Oh well.

amazing ending. too bad covid hit irl and this olympics didn't happen until later. Gotta say its hard thinking about the 2020 olympics. My best friend was going to compete in the 2020 olympics for USA. He was a triathlete. Covid hit, and he came home instead. While he was back he went free diving by himself (he was spearfishing), and went missing out at sea. We never found his body. I miss that mf. I still think that damn, if covid never happened, he wouldn't have come home and went diving that day and would have competed in the olympics instead. He lived by the quote: "everyday is a blessing" and I think yae-san and satoru would also like that quote.

I'm late to the party. im really surprised how everything tied together nicely. i can't tell if this was axed or not, bc the story naturally progressed to this point. most stories that are axed just rush and summarize events that could have been interesting to see unfold, and I'm glad this manga and the author were able to tie everything together.

My only minor gripe is that the whole Mito and her Grunkle principal relationship didnt really... go anywhere.. I really thought there was gonna be something more to Mito's character.

Other than that, this was so great. I loved seeing Saotome and Satoru's relationship progress, as well as their progress in boxing. Jake Paul could never.

Man, it's over, some 30 or so more chapters would've done wonders for this manga, but alas, it is what it is, I still think it's fantastic, I really shouldn't have put this one off for 5 years, now finishing it gets me all melancholic.

Also, Naoki Mizuguchi has been working on another manga's artwork since 2023: Mizuporo, it has 3 volumes, and Miho Isshiki as the writer, I really wish the best for them.

I know I'm late in commenting, but since I followed this since the start if feels like I should at least leave my two cents here.
Having come this far and overtime gotten into more and more manga, I really do appreciate this one for how consistent the tone and writing in it was, nothing too mind-breaking but still, it was a simple sport-romance that kept itself going without relying on too many annoying gimmicks or dumb plot-twists...although that's probably why it was a slow-burn until cancellation.

The author does have potential, although there style to this day feels a bit too blocky for my taste, the design sense (especially for the buff ladies) was to notch. Glad they at could a least get a proper ending even if they had to cut out a lot of subplots.

Agreed, there's grace in simplicity. No weird drama, no weird characters. It was this nice happy, slight-smile-on-your-face story.

And the midriff art is so nice.
