Women are have thought to have evolved "crocodile tear-like real tears" in order to survive during the early ages of humanity. When humans were more primitive, women were completely at the mercy of men and needed a mechanism to "calm a man down" for whatever reason he might've been mad at her in order to survive. Anger in men can be tamped down by using estrogen or related hormones. Women's tears give off a pheromone similar to estrogen when shed.
A similar thing can be caused by women's stress sweat.
However, there is also a converse to this fact. Some men have "evolved" heightened feelings of anger around those some same hormones. The cause for the emergence of an adverse reaction isn't known, but its assumed to be related to the class of developmental issues associated with excessive prenatal testosterone.
Here's an even stranger fact: Women are more than "hormone monsters." They constantly emit pheromones aimed at both men and women.
Men can subconsciously differentiate between women who are and aren't ovulating, men see ovulating women as more attractive but they can't tell you why.
How do women's pheromones affect women? Women can synchronize menstrual cycles via sniffing areas that emit pheromones: armpits, crotch and head.
Women have stronger senses of smell than men, the reason for this is thought to be related to child rearing and adaptations to having physiologically weaker bodies.
