I believe he planned it that way so that even if he dies, his plan will continue anyway. He had no intention to stop halfway, so why think of a way to end it before completion? Something like that.

Well, to be precise, the problem was that they never noticed that two pages got stuck together because of blood, and they weren't aware of the message hidden between them. So Makube wasn't aware either, he just believed that their teach was alive, and Kizaki believed the opposite, but seeing the last message made him realize he was wrong.

But if this is happening maybe this is the final arc, too.

I know this has already ended, but the sudden change of heart at this point could indicate that the mangaka was told by this time to start wrapping up the story since the manga is getting axed...

To me, dude’s already predisposed himself to forgive his friend. Not a lot of reasons to set conditions and constantly meeting up with someone if you’re determined to despise someone for the rest of their life
