initially it was actually like mystery cases that are solved, but it turned into ghost adventures while traveling. kinda lost the appeal I was looking for (like Ghost Hunt)

the manga cover didnt explain that this is actually a horror genre, let alone sexual violence. the cover will tell you that this is a romance, ecchi, slice of life manga

The synopsis nor the cover art doesn’t really do this story justice in my opinion, synopsis makes it seem like the entire story is about ghosts that rape the female lead and the cover art makes you think this is a romcom as the comment above me stated (albeit there is just a touch of romance).

The story is more of a ghost hunting type of story, the female lead is a cute airhead type of chick just entering her first year of college with an uncanny ability of attracting spiritual phenomena, but she is actually muuuuuuch braver than a lot of other characters in the story when faced with horror and is even willing to risk her life to help others.
The male lead is a strong but cursed spiritualist/counselor who works at the college solving mysterious events to any student who brings him a complaint and is on a mission to one day resolve all the unsolved cases they have received and ultimately he hopes to find out what happened to his own teacher who taught him how to fight spirits.

The story sort of gives me a more R rating Mieruko-chan vibe where Mieruko actually has a fighting chance against the constant barrage of spirits attempting to harm her.
I’d say this is definitely a good story for you if you enjoy horror/psychological drama/action.

I wish there was a crossover with Mieruko-chan where we can see Romm and Illko teaming up to get views.

If the first mystery and the sexual violence tag is what's stopping people from reading this story, then know that it really only happens for the first one. Yeah, there's titties occasionally and a few assault attempts from humans, but nothing like the intro. It's more of a dumb but kinda endearingly brave girl getting her way into some horrifying mysteries. There is an overarching plot, and her personality fits pretty well with it in my opinion, the bubblieness is a good contrast to the serious undertone. The gore tag is spot on tho, it's a splatterfest almost every mystery.

can someone explain why are the last chapters so short and being rushed? feels like a lot of the story being cut off and still leave me some questions. bcus i already put high expectations on this manga and marinated it for a long time only to see the ending just like this😞 i’ve seen the mangaka’s twtter and made up a conclusion that the manga sales is low, cmiiw tho since i just used translate machine. thanks in advance!

What a mess of a series, axe or no axe.

Great art, but wasted years not knowing what to do with itself or its cast. Weak as a dark comedy, weak as an overarching plot, weak as a horror arc anthology and very inconsistent with its characters. Unfortunately it also has some very fun ideas and concepts it hints at, but wastes them by either not giving them their full attention in a self-contained arc, properly building up on them over time, or even pulling off both while still leaving it satisfyingly ambiguous.

It's a manga that had everything it needed to be memorable from the start, but just sat on its ass and didn't commit to anything until it was unsurprisingly cut short. At least the cancellation gives the benefit of the doubt of how much this was the fault of the author or how much he was rushed.

Definitely a very frustrating experience to read through.

Think of this as detective Conan but with ghost/metaphysics work. That's it... Also with creepy tag on it

Wow... What happened??
The introduction and subsequent episodic stories were all intriguing and held my attention throughout. Overall, I found it enjoyable, but I must admit that the ending was quite disappointing. It felt abrupt and out of sync with the rest of the narrative, leaving me puzzled. It almost seems as if the author lost interest and hastily concluded the story.
I wonder if everything is alright with the author. Perhaps there were unforeseen circumstances that led to this unsatisfactory ending. If not, it might be worth revisiting and refining the conclusion to bring closure to the story properly. Properly addressing such discrepancies and revising the ending until it aligns with the rest of the narrative could be a step in the right direction.
