Searching for Manga, or possible a part of one, unsure

This has been driving me nuts for a while now and hopefully someone here knows.
I vaguely remember reading something where there were a bunch of girls being trained at an academy for something, possibly by military people.
Anyway, by the end, you find out the big realization is they were actually all dogs and the whole thing turns out to be the story of Laika, the Soviet space dog.
I can't remember if it was a side story, or a stand alone, or what. I'm starting to think I imagined the whole thing.

@Lycentia You didn't imagine the whole thing up, I remember reading this as well. I think it might have been one-shot and that I read it ages ago (I think more than 5 years ago?). Sorry I also don't remember the manga's name but I will ask around.

I'm saddened that the twist is revealed as part of the key details needed to find this manga, but I, too, would like to know this as well.

Is it shoujo? I feel like theres this oldschool shoujo thats adapted from novel about scifi futuristic space and theres this extra stories with this premise and the twist is that its about Laika the Dog?
