Thanks for the chapter, Silas.
The succubus
queen looks like a male child. The "lolicons" must have been salivating.
I'm gonna respectfully disagree. It's rare to have more than 2 sides in a story (good vs bad); even more rare for a setup like this. Sure, it's slow, but there's way more nuance across the factions than usual—and even some variance within the factions, and I'm all for that.
Granted, the donkey group subplot, I don't like. That could disappear and I might enjoy this more. But the old demon lord faction being unaligned with anyone but the main character, the church having its good and bad parts, the old heroes having their good and bad parts (and split up into smaller factions), and the individual countries having their own politics and wars? I think those parts have been done well.
Again, I do just wish the donkey trio wasn't so much of a joke faction. They could disappear, in my opinion.
The only thing about this sentiment that I disagree with is the intensity: I actually
hate that idiot squad, as much as I do Mareeeeena--but for slightly different reasons. Most of the reasons are the same: all of them cause trouble for others--specifically Ichinojou, because he lets them get away with it. That's a major source of odium in all of them: they know well that they're treated well, but they really don't care--they do what they want, no matter whose toes they step on; Kentauros is the worst, in that it is an absurdly powerful (the idea that something like that should be so powerful is more of the kind of JP writing I can't stand) animal and thus can neither be reasoned with nor made to do anything it doesn't want to (the reputation of donkeys for stubbornness dialed up to eleven). These characteristics only add massively to the troublesomeness of the idiot duo, for while they can cause damage through their stupidity (which is actually evil--they
choose to be that way and ignore any signs of their harming others), they don't have the ability to cause immediate damage to the degree Kentauros can and does--and, at least, do understand that their doing so would eliminate any of the good will they receive and exploit constantly.
92 chapters out and all there is to that idiot trio is the fact that they're very hatable and the donkey is either a legendary creature or has eaten a token that made it one (I remember something to that effect from many chapters ago). It's no different from how Mareeeeena's there only for harem "variety"--the difference is that at least Mareeeeena has toned down the retardation and thus isn't as utterly insufferable. So I agree: if that trio disappeared, the story would lose nothing at all--they contribute as much, and for it to be revealed later that they're actually a major plot point would be a serious rectal extraction. I would be pleased, however, if their exit was violently forced and permanent.
