Why is it that the MC acts like admitting his class is "jobless" is equivalent to admitting he's a rapist? Especially when he's talking to someone else from Japan who should understand the different job classes, etc? I mean, he literally just got done admitting his sister is the former demon lord and yet being jobless is somehow waaay worse than that. Really?

"sex slavery is actually freedom"
- BASED haru
In a way Haru is not being forced into anything so...

Marina's character growth is so cute, her story is still very weird with the whole going into slavery by her own will and all but still.

this manga uses "slavery" as a way to depict marriage before women's rights, without having to call women's rights into question more directly, since that's still too heretical in occupied japan. it's common, it's one of the top reasons to use a medieval-fantasy setting at all, & you see it in manga for all audiences. there's demand for it because everybody at some level wishes it were still that way.

It's basically just because his character here is based on being ashamed/has ptsd over being without a job in his previous life, despite trying to get a job for many months straight. Having to tell people he's 'jobless' is triggering. And psychological triggers are rarely easy to just get over/be reasonable about (also he died going to a job interview, and still isn't over horses entirely).

That said, the job is awesome and his problem with it is literally only the name at this point (also, one of the skills name isn't helping [Hikikomori]).

Has the translator lost the distinction between Marina and Mareena? Kind of disappointing if so.
