I wish he would just at least reveal to the principal , who’s his trusted confidant , that he became a Sage of life magic…gonna help him get a lot of shit done and people would stop doing dumb shit to him…
this is nice world setting, not only magic and adventure, but also school life.
the protagonist are not too OP, i wish even if 7th push aren't really effective there, the cone and blade are later will be proven able to pass that bastard's guard
While this is a controversial take, I kinda agree that it's dangerous to teach an experimental method of doing things.
Plus the other students doesn't have the "sage" thingy.
More like it would've been a better look for him if he's proven and fleshed out methods more to others before bringing the other students in.
Firing him is too far though. Clearly shenanigans happening here, but just like real life science and advancements there are always scepticism, doubt and condemnation when current beliefs are threatened.

It's not controversial.
I think what people find aggravating about this scene, was not that he was reprimanded for teaching non-curricilum stuff. but that he was fired immediately for it, and by a 9(?)-days temporary manager at that! Like, had it been the principal, it would still have made sense. But a temporary manager, without even consulting the guy in the hospital? That's just asking for a demotion.
Just give him a warning and tell him to stop teaching it during class, and relegate any such teaching to his free-time. Maybe even give him an additional experimental class: "experimental offensive uses for life magic". If you (the school) wants to.

That wouldn't make a difference though. After all, the principal would have his back regardless. Even now, he actually could stop all this if he immediately went to the principal. They even bring up later that he could have done exactly that but chose not too. He sees this as an opportunity to start working as an adventurer full time and build up his and life magic's reputations.

What the fuck are you talking about, that's impossible! Everyone knows introverted, capable Jap MCs can only serve as yes-men, and never point out common sense, or make use of their connections. They only ever get recognition by accident, and not by their own volition.
It's absurd to expect anything more, it's not like we didn't have over 20 years of these type of doormat MCs, it's not like authors could, god forbid, evolve their tropes...Impossible....Preposterous.

I disagree, he isn't using the sage skill, he didn't even had the sage skill when he cleared the first boss, he cleared the first dungeon using only normal life magic, and even more, he did it with low level life skills so he wasn't even using his high affinity with it.
I agree that it is still in experimental phase but he already proved that you can at least farm the first floors of a dungeon

Sorry, I forgot to include that I'm looking through this as if I were either the teacher's superior or the parents/guardians of the students.
If I was their superior: I can already imagine the headache and potential problems that would arise from having one of my staff teaching experimental combat stuff to students that barely has any evidence except for word of mouth.
If I was a parent/guardian: I can feel nothing but dread and worry if I heard my kid was brought into live combat with experimental methods, which again is only known by word of mouth.
This gets even worse when there's already other long standing methods of fighting.
I can already hear these people saying: "Why did you teach students this experimental thing that is known for being useless when there's proper documented and fleshed out methods?".
Worst part is that this statement isn't wrong.
So I stand by my statement that he should've prepared and fleshed out his methods and teachings more before bringing them into dungeons.
Try it in training grounds against targets.
Write results, write notes, make live recordings, etc..
Fyi I definitely do not agree with immediately firing him. But a warning of these potential problems would be important.
Edit: I just realized I went thinking too deep into this. My bad.

First of all, don't apologize, rambling shows you are thinking of the story, that's why I also yap when talking about manga, it also makes it feel collaborative to theorize and discuss it with others.
About the point of view of the vice-director, He is being hasty, he heard 1 report, from 1 teacher and decided to fire the MC, not asking him what was happening, not trying to investigate asking other teachers about it, just 1 report from the gorilla idiot who is salty because he was proved wrong about his views on life magic, if the vice-director asked the other teacher who went with them to the dungeon, he would have heard of the quintuple push, and how the MC was right, or could have asked the MC for a demonstration and proof, or could have just investigated, notice that the MC managed to climb a lot of adventurer ranks (for a magic life user) and do a logical conclusion.
Though I also have to cut him some slack, he was just ascended to director even if temporarily, he already gotta be stressed and now the MC is going around saying that life magic can be used to explore dungeons, and while I'm just theorizing as I'm not a LN reader, I also think he could be biased against the MC since he was a nobody whose only worth was being the adopted grandson of the director of the academy, for all the vice-director knows the MC is just a nepotism hire who is way over his head and was abusing his position.
