Asinine. The girl's name is Leon. If he wanted to localize it then Leona would be much more feminine and sound better to boot. Such an ass choice. Her name is Leon because she's the knight-commander. The leader of a den of lions. It's at best gender neutral unless you want to somehow say the word lion is the name for a dude.
