...But the LN refers Meraru as a man, though...Japanese grammatical vagueness plus androgenous looks mean it's pretty much in the eye of the beholder for a side character like that.
Yeah, WN refers to Meraru as a boy, and so does the manga - in chapter 78 where Meraru shows up, he's referred to as a boy on the first page. Think the translator just...forgot. Meraru's been mostly referred to by name or as a spirit so probably easy to forget in Japanese....But the LN refers Meraru as a man, though...![]()
They mention remember not to agree. sounds like they plan to use a magic contract or some form of binding that will require him to "agree". so yeah sounds like a attempt to enslave. If they’re only kinda dumb they’ll try to blame mc for never publicly demonstrating his powers (even though he did try before the idiots surrendered). or find some way to still claim he’s lying and that this whole thing is some clever ruse
if he’s really dumb, he’ll try to frame mc for a crime and put a slave collar on him.
This is at chapter 114 in the web novelGuys... which chapter is this in the novel? Waiting a month is killing me.
