It seems that the guildmaster is planning to have him accept something which will apparently be disadvantageous. Maybe something like raising his rank, but he won't mention that named requests cannot be refused and the guildmaster will open requests himself to gather rare material. Though something like that seems really silly as it means higher ranked adventurers will get exploited, and then raising your rank really isn't worth it. Let's hope the guildmaster actually has a cunning plan that makes sense. Either way, Yuuta is going to foil his plans.

So yeah, looking forward to finally seeing the climax of this long feud with the adventurer guild.

Yeah, WN refers to Meraru as a boy, and so does the manga - in chapter 78 where Meraru shows up, he's referred to as a boy on the first page. Think the translator just...forgot. Meraru's been mostly referred to by name or as a spirit so probably easy to forget in Japanese.
