Seems so far the female childhood friend is root cause of the loops and seems in one of the loops she was dating the ml but for some reason she wished to go back so something must of went wrong in the timeline. Seems the female childhood friend truly likes the ml and didn't pursue him for one part not realizing her feelings and confusing her memories and feelings for the other childhood friend. Seems in timelines he's confessed she doesn't accept it because of guilt. I'm assuming the timeline they dated she confessed first but seems something went wrong for her to go back in time. Like others said more fan of the other female character hope she's endgame.
