Is "Are you the only one who loves me?" seriously the only anime/manga/LN to call out how pathetic and toxic this "side/losing heroine who has no chance at all because she refuses to actually make a move but still decides to selflessly do everything she can to help the MC hook up with his chosen love interest instead of fighting for her own happiness and being totally satisfied just being a loser because she's sooooooo in love with the MC" thing is?

Jindou got jack and shit from the MC and the narrative but she's still satisfied just "helping" him and his shitty tsundere childhood friend to the point of sacrificing her own existence just to help them hook up all the while never even confessing or making a move until the very end before she died.

She should have bitched out the useless MC or done something other than "I'm the cause of all this suffering for you two so I'll kill myself to give you two a happy ending even though Ayumi was the selfish bitch".

the only thing worse than this would be her getting brought back as their fucking daughter and having to deal with the man she loves becoming her own damn father, it would just be the ultimate slap in the face and cement her self-cuckoldry/narrative cuckoldry so hoping it doesn't come to pass.

Hopefully we get a shitty rushed threesome ending instead (or god willing she gets brought back and MC leaves shitty tsundere for her after now realizing she loves him)

@wevvb the one actually cool character in the manga getting screwed over by the useless idiot MC and his shitty tsundere girlfriend (he chose her over Jindou why exactly?) is satisfying?

@1986ctcel Eh, Jindou's responsible for Ayumi's shitty attitude, too. No accident -> no dead parents -> no survivor's guilt.

I'm willing to accept any BS storytelling just to make Tenshi and Jindou come back.

Please.

So this means Chapter 40 is the [END]?
I'm predicting a timeskip, MC and Ayumi are married, she gives birth to newborn twins that they'll name 'Tenshi' and 'Jindou'.
Romeo/Anzu roaming the world with the two useless ex-bodyguards.

@BZo1480 and yet she's still a better/more interesting character than the generic blond tsundere even with that, especially since this stupid ending kind of shows there was no point to her even having romantic feelings for the MC because she never made a move and the MC never had any chance of loving anyone other than Ayumi, it added nothing to the story except another crappy love triangle where the winner is obvious from the start and the loser exists just to suffer and advance the MC and main heroine's relationship.

Sacrificing best girl for the worst girl. This has been the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever

@MrF0x as long as it doesn't imply an open ending I'm totally fine with Jindou coming back.

I thought this manga had potential but this is just...disappointing. The villain, the sacrifice, the outcome didn't make me feel anything. Like the first comment said, it's just cheap af

This will be the last romance manga i watch i think. Because the romance writers don't want to disappoint their readers rather than themselves, thus doing everything they can in the shortest time to make the most popular girl win.

I hate tsunderes overall and their treatment in the manga scene. They always get what they want because instead of a well written character, their shtick is "Lolll funny lolll loud noise haha *punches* b-b-baka! *breaks your neck* i don't wanna see you!!! *wants to see you but plays hard to get*." And this of course leads to people believing they have "An AmAziNg ChraCaTer DevElOpmeNt" when they stop punching the MC for 5 seconds to show how much they are in pain actually and how it should be about them but the baka MC just doesn't get them.

Now, here's my controversial opinion: I didn't like Toradora. The ending, i mean; what the hell was that? Why do i see similarities here? The tsunderes getting what they want by running and crying and showing how they have it hard? Yeah? Cool. And how the tsunderes give orders to the MC in the last episode and the MC accepts unconditionally. I mean, come on! Are these the traits you want people to carry on? Run away, play hard to get and get people to abide your orders?

Now, think if you talked to a girl who punched your shoulder every time you either told a joke, expressed your opinions or showed why and how certain behavior of this girl could get better. The girl doesn't express her opinions, hides stuff from you, makes it all about her every chance she gets, doesn't tell you when she's upset and just runs away... Would you even stop for a second even if they were a 10/10 to think you'd be friends with them let alone marry them? But then why does the 2 most beloved (estimate) romance shows have these girl win over a normal, genuine person?

If i start ranting about the tsunderes and their manipulative acts this will not be a post but a pdf. How are people ok with these types of characters depicted as a love interest? I was kinda annoyed watching Toradora, but this shit was something else. I think every chapter had a threshold of punching the MC the writer had to meet to give Ayumi "character".

TL;DR: I hate tsunderes. I hate abusive and manipulative people getting what they want and people reading it up as romance. I hate not punching the MC counts as character development for tsunderes, whose character is never nothing more than loud, obnoxious and annoying. I hate loud characters being seen as more of a character just because they're loud. I hate romance animes. I hate fame and money hungry writers who know they can't replicate their success so they try their best to damage a medium for the sake of longer sustenance. And i hate Nisekoi.

@1986ctcel Ayumi was what Ayumi was throughout the story because of Jindou. If Jindou had never gotten involved with her life, Ayumi is probably an entirely different person at this point. We were literally shown and told that Ayumi never seriously responded to Kou's feelings because of her survivor's guilt from the car wreck, which was Jindou's fault. Of course Jindou is gonna come off as the "better" option when she's not tied down by baggage that she herself caused to begin with. This story is a gigantic trash heap, but Jindou sacrificing herself to fix what she broke years ago is at least makes sense.

Oof what a trash ending lmao. This was definitely axed, the author didn’t really know where he was going with it after the first 20 or so chapters... eh whatever.

Man. The past ten chapters were really painful to read. Tons of nonsenses and horrible character development (or lacking thereof). If it wasn't because I knew it's ending, I would have dropped it long time ago. Just need to endure it one more chapter and I can forget this crap.
