I guess you could make a point that he's still using his "full strength" to fight her with a weak element here, but that feels kinda like calling it "full strength" when a master swordsman defeats someone with a stick or something. Not really full power, just showing off.

Kyle is unfair.
He's pushing his opponent to go all out while he's still holding back by purposefully using a disadvantageous element.

Edit: Also, how is fire "disadvantageous" to begin with?
They work on the same concept (temperature) in reverse direction (hot/cold) like light and dark in the previous match.
Shouldn't they be balanced, where the one with more raw power wins in a direct confrontation?

Cold alone does not make ice, you need water as well, which is why fire loses to it. Pokemon logic places ice at a disadvantage because fire melts ice, but ice magic can only really exist as a variant of water magic and can easily just refreeze the melted ice.
