It seems like LN and Manga is going bit differently with the plot, but if anyone want to read it, you can start with vol 4 or even 3 if you want to see what happened since they first step foot on District 7. You can find the PDFs at justlightnovels 
Here's extract from the novel about what happened, and yes I hate the MC for being so fk_ng passive ret** MC and not doing anything about the **....
"The Guild had arrested Gray, the man who had been secretly plotting to take over the Alliance. He’d also faced retribution, albeit in a rather unconventional way, for trying to force the members of Four Seasons to join the Alliance. He was going to undergo grueling reeducation at the training facility after his arrest. It was an intense punishment, but it still felt a little lenient considering everything he’d done; perhaps I should have gone tougher on him as the leader of my party for leering at my party members."
Let me add another note, just after finishing D7, Mc wants to skip and rush towards the D5's dungeon even though they almost died at D7...............
