I like that they used "Arrow To The Knee" to confirm the idea that she is an unknowing character in an actual game.

She is merely off-stage in the world we see as an MMO or PC-RPG; almost an explanatory Potemkin of the multiversality inherent in the multidimensional quantum existence we (honestly, rather casually) refer to as "reality."

Probably for the best. Unless it just appears out of thin air like with the boar I'm thinking it was the guard's weapon. Now he can keep it and become an adventurer again.

I was gonna say she couldn't even use the spear, but you just reminded me that even tho the story is making her out to be a mage for the most part she DID have quite the kick(against a 'lOwLy SLiMe' but still) and comes from a martial arts family. So who knows.
