Making a character tragic doesn't make their actions justified, if done right it could turn out good but i'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

I haven't seen any tragic presentation in the story about the villainess Wenty. It's not like giving her some character background would suddenly make her tragic. She still acted rudely and tried to boss Art around the moment she saw her at the party, forcing him to lie to his current employer and trying to take him back to slavery by using his trauma to her best advantage. How is this making her a tragic character? She was being forced into an arranged marriage with a pig man, but like I said before, that's just consistency in the story, as she's from a generally shady and nasty household, so obviously her old man would use her as another political chess piece as well. Besides, once again like I said before, she did have a luxurious and carefree childhood, as if to make up for needing to accept a less than ideal marriage later. From an outside point of view you could also say it's karma: she needs to start paying for all of her nasty habits and almost killing Art with overwork.

So, how exactly is she depicted as a tragic character? Unless that was novel prophet talk, I say not. She's just a spoiled brat who has hard time accepting she's not the center of the world. That's what it looks like to me.
