what part of "i'm joining the enemy to fight on their side against my previous clan and allies" is leaving peacefully? the ones who abandon their old allegiances to join Oda and fight against their former friends are not leaving peacefully, whether they leave with their former lords head as a gift to Oda or not it doesn't change it, traitor = traitor, you can't just say "no these guys are the good traitors but that guy is the bad traitor" when both sides are betraying their side and allying with Oda to fight against their former side.

this ain't office politics, this is war my dude, you can't compare it with switching jobs.
Nah, there are times when changing sides can still be considered honorable. Say a Lord was killed by his son using poison, and you knew about it, but you didn't have the evidence to prove it. Then his son took over and began to make changes and alliances that went against everything that your Lord stood for. Changing sides in order to not only enact justice, but also keep the Lord's son from further desecrating the Lord's memories would be considered an honorable act.

politics and war go hand in hand. Even the guy who got betrayed explains that himself and everyone else would have forgiven him if he offered his leaders head and pleaded to spare the people but he instead did it for self gain and to save only himself.

So she has prevented the Ikko Ikki uprising and removed the cause of Nobunaga's "Demon King" nickname... hopefully?

"they have no use for traitors" while right after saying how they have several others who have switched sides...
you do understand switching sides is treason right? but good thing there's a chance you switch side and the side you switch to won't execute you. again they could have just denied his petition that way they aren't destroying future defection.
Theres also the fact that most that switched sides fought to the point of impressing Nobunaga and out of respect offered them to join him. The difference is that they fullfilled their duty towards their lord, while on this case not only the betrayal came from the ruling family but also was out of selfish motives.

It wasnt a matter of protect the clan's honor or even their people it was to save his own hide alone, something that was shameful even during Senguku period where people were quite pragmatic, since it would mean that person could easily betray Nobunaga at any moment if they could so such betrayal before towards their own family just to save himself.

Is like saying that murder is the same when you kill someone because you dislike them or when you kill them to save someone's life. Things are not just white or black and circunstances matter

I'd imagine as a Japanese or a history buff reading this story it wouldn't be as interesting.

The Asakura and Azai (sans Oda's Sister and her Husband's (Azai Clan Head) family) teamed with Takeda Shinden and the Warrior Monks to try and stop the Oda's rise to power. Shinden was eliminated as a threat a few chapters ago, and now the Oda decided to deal with the Asakura/Azai alliance.

The Asakura were targeted first, which led to the ending in this chapter. Next is the Azai, where Oda's brother in law is going to kill his father for betraying and trying to kill them.
Thank you so much for the recap!

There's an actual protocol to switching sides. The asshole fatass shat all over it to try to save his own hide.

In other words, killing him was the honorable thing to do.
